Remembrance Parade & Service 2018

This year parade and service will take place on Sunday 11th November and will mark 100th anniversary of the Armistice and the end of WWI.

#RR42 A Scorching Success!

2nd Cheadle Scout Group would like to thank everybody who came along and supported our 42nd Annual Ram Roast on Saturday 5th May 2018. #RR42

The weather was superb and thousands of people enjoyed a fantastic afternoon, which started with a colourful and noisy procession through Cheadle before heading to the Abney Scout & Guide Centre within Abney Hall for the main event.

Our thanks go to everyone who made this years Ram Roast such a success from parents, leaders and supporters of the Group, programme advertisers, lucky programme draw sponsors, GM Police, Stockport Council/Totally Local and local businesses who donated produce.

Although money is still to be received along with expenses to be deducted, early indications are looking like its one of the best Ram Roasts yet!

All monies raised goes straight back into the running of 2nd Cheadle Scout Group ensuring we can provide excellent headquarters, camping & water-sports equipment and vehicles to around 200 young members and volunteers adult leaders. Sandra’s Bedding Plant Sale 2018

Order forms are now available for our annual Bedding Plant Sale, which this year is on Saturday 19th May 2018.
You can choose to have your order delivered between 9am and 12 noon or collect from our headquarters between 11am and 12.30pm.

All plants are ordered direct from a local nursery and for every item ordered we take a percentage on the sale.

SK Eight Community Fund Scheme

We are one of three chosen charities with the winner winning £100, which will be put towards our 2018 Building Fund!

Ram Roast 42 – Saturday 5th May 2018


Our 42nd Annual Ram Roast takes place at The Abney Scout & Guide Centre, Newlands Road, Cheadle SK8 2PD on Saturday 5th May 2018.

The afternoon kicks off with a procession leaving Brookfield Park, off Wilmslow Road, Cheadle at 1.15pm lead by Northenden Pipe Band, Phoenix Dancers and our Beavers and Cubs being transported on colourful wagons to the main event within the grounds of the Abney Scout & Guide Centre, Abney Hall, Cheadle.

Admission to the event is by programme, which cost £1 each and can be bought in advance or on the day.  Children under the age of fifteen and uniformed members of the Scout Association get in FREE. The programme includes a Lucky Programme Draw with prizes donated by local businesses.

Official opening is at 2.15pm.

During the afternoon there are displays in the arena with around 30 stalls and activities for you to enjoy from bouncing castles, tombola, refreshments – including a fresh scone and cup of tea/coffee in our refreshments hall. Taste our famous ‘Ram Butties’, hot dogs & burgers, candy floss or try your luck on the coconut shy, chocolate tombola, climbing wall have your face painted, bedding plants and lots more, something for every age from the young to the old.

Something for every age to enjoy from the young to the old.

All monies raised goes directly back into the Scout Group, helping to provide headquarters, equipment and activities for around 200 Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers and Network members within the Cheadle area.

100 Years of 2nd Cheadle!

2017 sees all members of 2nd Cheadle Scout Group celebrate our Centenary.

Members will be able to wear our special centenary badge designed by one of our current cubs and will come together throughout the year to celebrate in style.

Have you been a member of the Group over the last 100 years?
If so, come and join us on Saturday 7th October 2017 at our 100 Years Celebration Service at St. Mary’s Church, High Street, Cheadle. Time tbc.

Order forms are now available for our annual Spring Bedding Plant Sale, which this year is on Saturday 13th May 2017.
You can choose to have your order delivered between 9am and 12 noon or collect from our headquarters between 11am and 12.30pm.

All plants are ordered direct from a local nursery and for every item ordered we take a percentage on the sale. All proceeds of the Bedding Plant Sale goes direct to 2nd Cheadle Scout Group helping us continue to provide Scouting to around 200 local children aged between 6 and 25 years of age.
